ASH THERAPY
Ash Therapy offers evidence-based, compassionate mental health services in Footscray, Victoria and Australia-wide via telehealth.
At Ash Therapy, we are passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where young adults (16+) and adults can feel truly seen, understood, and empowered. Our goal is to help you embrace your strengths, work through challenges, and build lasting, meaningful change.
Founded by Alison Morris, an AHPRA Registered and Mental Health Endorsed Therapist with over 20 years of clinical expertise, Ash Therapy integrates both mental and physical wellbeing. We understand that the mind and body are deeply interconnected and believe that true wellness requires attention to both. This holistic approach helps build resilience, reduce distress, and foster greater wellbeing across all areas of life.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, stress, sensory overwhelm, life transitions, or personal growth, our evidence-based and client-centred approach will support you in making positive, sustainable change. Here, you will find a space to slow down, reflect, and grow – a space where you are supported not just to cope, but to thrive.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, stress, sensory overwhelm, life changes, or seeking personal growth, our evidence-based, client-centred care helps you create meaningful, sustainable change. Ash Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and grow – not just to cope, but to thrive.
MEET ALISON MORRIS –
Alison is an AHPRA Registered and Mental Health Endorsed Occupational Therapist, with over 20 years of clinical experience in both mental and physical health. She combines professional expertise with empathy and inclusivity to help clients navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. Through Ash Therapy, Alison works flexibly and responsively with a wide range of clients, supporting them not just to cope, but to thrive.
I have extensive experience in supporting young people, adults and families with a wide range of challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, PMDD, biopolar disorder, trauma, life transitions, and work-life balance. This includes individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and people who identify as gender diverse or neurodivergent.
I have a particular interest in young adults (16+), women’s health, disordered eating and body image concerns, areas that often intersect and require a broad, integrated understanding. Hormonal changes, life transitions, mental health challenges, and physical health all interact, and I work with clients to support the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
A Collaborative, Compassionate and Inclusive Approach
I believe therapy works best as a partnership, where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space, drawing on a neurodiverse-affirming and trauma-informed approach. Using a recovery-oriented, person-centred framework, I work at your pace to strengthen daily functioning, build self-awareness, and create a life that reflects your values.
I also recognise the vital role of families and carers in supporting recovery and, where appropriate, include them in therapy to help build a stronger and more sustainable support network.
Many of my clients come to me after trying other therapies or seeing different therapists in the past, but not finding the support as beneficial as they hoped. This can feel discouraging — and even leave people questioning whether change is possible.
I am especially interested in supporting people who are sometimes labelled as “complex.” I don’t see complexity as a barrier, but as a reflection of the many different factors — past experiences, relationships, physical health, and environment — that shape each individual.
My focus is on relational safety, reflection, and sustainability in care.
Commitment to Growth
I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, continuously refining my skills to provide the best possible evidence-based care. I have also contributed to training and supporting future Occupational Therapists through sessional university teaching and have previously served as National Occupational Therapy Manager for one of Australia’s largest rehabilitation providers.
